YOUNG FORUM - A YOUNGER VIEW ON ART
The Videonale Circus, a new addition to VIDEONALE.19, was a tent-like space that was set up in the middle of the exhibition. What happens there? Here visitors could linger, camp, get together and read. The Circus was a meeting point and a place for conversation. Together we looked at individual works from the exhibition. The Young Forum had its place here and during Easter break the childrens' short film program The Yellow of the Egg took place here.

YOUNG FORUM
Who talks about art? In most cases it's critics, scientists, curators, and above all: adults. But the topics that are dealt with in art concern everyone! Regardless of age!
We wanted to approach art from a younger perspective and have therefore entered into cooperation with the Amos-Comenius-Gymnasium and the Karl-Simrock-Schule in Bonn. Young people from both schools engaged intensively with the V.19 works Half Wet (Carlos Irijalba) and Heat Waves (Kent Chan) in discussions and artistic workshops and during two public talks in the Videonale Circus together with the Videonale team.

WHAT'S COMING OUR WAYS
Carlos Irijalba's work ›HALF WET‹ draws a dystopian future (Or already present?) in which the oceans off Oaxaca (Mexico) are acidified and tourist paradises are deserted. Although the pools off the coast have been abandoned, the protagonist repeats the purification ritual of his ancestors. What is already reality? That's what youths from the Karl Simrock School ask in conversation with artist Carlos Irijalba.

IF WE CONTINUE LIKE THIS
V.19 artist Kent Chan's ›HEAT WAVES‹ is a maelstrom of Western ideas about the tropics as a place of paradisiacal longing and a plaything of exploitation. Young people of Amos-Comenius-Gymnasium, together with Laura Bechert and Dodo, the authors of »Climate Crisis and Colonialism. Over 500 Years of Resistance« try to better understand the effects of the climate crisis and its interconnections with colonialism.

THE YELLOW OF THE EGG
CHILDRENS' SHORT FILM PROGRAM
During Easter break we showed a children's program with
animated short films for children aged 4 to 8 and their adult companions. In the Videonale Circus in the middle of the Videonale exhibition young and small guests were invited to make themselves comfortable on cushions and see how animals compete with imaginative flying objects, a sheep becomes king by chance
or a vixen writes love letters.
Also a very warm welcome to our Non-German Speaking friends!
