OUR JURY
The works presented in the frame of the Videonale were carefully selected by this year’s competition jury. We cordially thank the jury members Nathanja van Dijk, Kris Dittel, Amirali Ghasemi, Tasja Langenbach, and Erik Martinson.
We were overwhelmed by the number of 1,989 submissions from a total of 86 countries and would like to use this opportunity to once again cordially thank everyone who applied for the VIDEONALE.19 via our call for entries!
Kris Dittel is a curator, editor and occasional writer. Informed by her background in economics and social sciences, her curatorial practice reflects the social, political and economic context of her work. Her long-term research projects materialise as exhibitions, performances, publications, talks, public events, and other.
Nathanja van Dijk is an art historian, curator and director of the Kunsthal Rotterdam. She was the co-founder and director of the art institute A Tale of A Tub in Rotterdam. Before that, she was artistic director of the Frankendael Foundation in Amsterdam and Concordia 21rozendaal in Enschede.
Erik Martinson is an independent curator and writer. His projects have been hosted by institutions such as Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; LUX, London; Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius; Whitechapel Gallery, London; Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia, Tallinn; Cubitt Gallery, London; Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo; Rupert, Vilnius; Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga; and CPR², New York.
Amirali Ghasemi is a curator, media artist, and graphic designer. He is the founder of Parkingallery, an independent project space in Tehran, as well as its online platform for young Iranian artists. Ghasemi has shown his photographs, videos, and design works internationally.
Tasja Langenbach is an independent curator with a focus on media art and moving images and artistic director of Videonale. She participates in selection, award and scholarship juries and is a member of the board of trustees of imai - inter media art institute. She teaches Culture, Aesthetics, Media at HSD Düsseldorf.
